Résumé
L'augmentation de l'espérance de vie dans les pays industrialisés entraîne une augmentation du nombre des individus souffrant des maladies neurodégénératifs. Le développement des thérapies préventives et curatives est ralenti par la compréhension insuffisante des mécanismes par lesquels les neurones dégénerent.
Dans cet article sont exposées des preuves concernant le rôle majeur joué par le stress oxydant dans le processus de neurodégénérescence et la mort neuronale. Les essais pharmacologiques et cliniques actuels démontrent que l'utilisation d'antioxydants ou de composés pouvant augmenter le potentiel antioxydant intracellulaire, pour contrôler l'homéostasie des especes réactives de l'oxygene, pourrait contribuer a la neuroprotection et/ou au ralentissement de la progression de ces maladies.

- Abstract -

Mycotoxicoses are intoxications, acute or chronic, produced by the mycotoxin secreted by certain species of macroscopic or microscopic fungi. Practically, all the botanical classes of mycetes also compromise species which are pathogenic for humans, and which may c ause mycoses, mycotoxicoses and mycoallergies analogous to the veterinarian pathology.
After experimental intoxication we observed the most important alterations in the hepatic parenchyma. Our study also noticed the protective effect of vitamin A.

- Abstract -

The gemmotherapy is a biotherapeutic method that uses for therapeutic purposes glycerin-hydro-alcoholic extracts from fresh raw materials (buds, shoots, young branches, young roots, or other embryonic tissues from plants).
We obtained gemmoderivatives that contain Ribes nigrum buds and young shoots of Rosa canina. The antimicrobial activity was tested using a diffuzimetric method. The determinations were carried out against 8 microorganisms, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Rosa canina shoots and Ribes nigrum buds showed antimicrobial activity in relation to colonies of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella flexneri, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Enterococcus faecalis.

- Abstract -

The purpose of our study was to determine quantitatively mineral elements in Epilobii herba, a vegetal product enjoying increasing popularity in the treatment of urinary disorders associated with prostate hyperplasia. The content in mineral elements was measured, both in the dry vegetal material and in its infusion, through Inductively Coupled Plasma - Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-AES) and Inductively Coupled Plasma - Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The results point out that the amount of Epilobii herba corresponding to the daily dose covers 66% of the normative requirement for Mn, 51% of the one for Ni, 34% of the one for Mo, 25% of the one for V and 16% of the Ca requirement. The synergistic activity of the organic phytocomplex (which reduces the rate of cellular proliferation) and inorganic elements relevant to the protection against carcinogenesis (Mn, Mo) argues in favour of the utility of the investigated medicinal plant in the treatment of prostate adenom.

- Abstract -

The aim of our research was to capitalize the antispasmodic effects of methyleugenol from the essential oil of Artemisia dracunculus L.methyleugenoliferum (a new chemotype created at Fundulea Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Researches Resort M.A.P.R.R., Romania), by formulating it into a cream. For therapeutic applications, we proposed the symptomatic treatment of diabetic and non-diabetic angiopathies (arthritis, heart ischemia, Raynaud syndrome) and of other spastic affections (dysmenorrhea). The area of therapeutic properties was enlarged by adding a vasodilatatory essential oil (Citronellae aetheroleum) and an antispasmodic essential oil (Basilici aetheroleum). In order to choose the best formulation, 3 variants of cream formulations were prepared. The quality control of the final product was carried out according to the specifications of Romanian Pharmacopoeia X-th Edition and other literature, and the following were determined: the appearance, the pH value, rheological properties, the spreading capacity and the content of the essential oil. In the stability studies, the creams were observed after 1, 3 and 6 months. We choosed the variant for which the cream presents the best organoleptic and pharmaco-technical characteristics and the highest stability in time.

- Abstract -

The synthesis of a novel azoderivatives, 4-(N-phenylacetamidoxy) azobenzenes and 4-(N-phenylacetamidoxy)-4'-(phenylazo) biphenyls, has been completed through the condensation of the sodium azophenoxydes with N-chloroacetylaniline, and those structures established through spectral analysis (UV-VIS, IR, 1H-NMR, GC-MS). The UV-VIS spectra explain the absorption bands from K type - conjugated system Ar-N=N-Ar, E or B type - ñ¯- electron conjugation in the benzene rings, and R type - for -N=N- chromophore. The FTIR spectra comprise absorption bands specific to the groups -N=N-, Ar-O-CH2-, -CO-NH-, Ar-CH3, Ar-CN, Ar-NO2, Ar-CF3, and benzene rings. The structural formulas of the novel azoderivatives, have been confirmed starting from the 1H-NMR spectra. The mass spectra are characterized by fragments obtained from the molecular ion, consequently of the bonds O-CH2 and CO-NH splitting. Concerning the Triticum test, for all samples the inhibition of radicular elongation comparing to the reference sample has been obtained.

- Abstract -

This paper presents a comparative theoretical study about the herbal drugs - radix, rhizoma and tubera types, which have monographs both in 10th Edition of Romanian Pharmacopoeia and in the 5th Edition of European Pharmacopoeia (including supplements 5.1 - 5.5), and their analysis methodology, too. This study shows that there are 7 common monographs: Althaeae radix, Gentianae radix, Ipecacuanhae radix, Liquiritiae radix, Primulae radix, Ratanhiae radix and Valerianae radix. In European Pharmacopoeia the specification is more complete and the methods (especially for purity evaluation and active principles assay) are more exact and selective than the ones described in Romanian Pharmacopoeia.

- Abstract -

The aim of the present study is to establish the efficacy of 8 therapeutical schemes used in the hormonotherapy (HT) of metastasated prostate adenocarcinoma at bone level, considering the economic rentability, on a period of 4 years. For this purpose, a minimum and a maximum cost per patient was calculated for each of the 8 therapeutical schemes, for the whole HT period. Then, for each therapeutical scheme, the cost per patient and per month was calculated.

- Abstract -

The correlation of the principal characteristics of the organochlorine pesticides with their toxic action on the body, established the premise of the research concerning the contamination levels of the human milk with these substances.
The evolution in time of the level of contamination with organochlorine pesticides of the human milk was followed by comparing the values obtained in the year 2006 with the recorded values obtained in 1998 and 1989 and it was evaluated the presence of the organochlorine pesticides referring to the lipid concentration of the milk and to the source environment of the mothers. The content of the organochlorine pesticides was determined by using the gas chromatographic method, after extractions with oil ether.
The accomplished research reveals the apparition of the organochlorine pesticides as contaminators in the human milk in each of the three stages of the research. The comparative analysis established that in 1998 the concentration of the organochlorine pesticides recorded lower values than in 1989, aspect explained by the reduction of using organochlorine pesticides in the country, but in 2006, even if the concentration continue to be low, the frequency of their presence is significant and the metabolites and the isomers of the tested compounds are still found again in considerable quantities having, in addition, a slightly modified chart of their apparition.

For this work were studied the properties (weight, diameter, thickness, mechanical resistance, friability, disintegration time) of tablets obtained by direct compression, under different compressing pressure for the six types of lactose, presented in a previous study [1]. The results show, which is the most indicated type of lactose for tablets.

- Abstract -

Albendazole (ABZ) is a benzimidazole derivative used in the treatment of human and animal helminthic parasitoses. Albendazole is practically insoluble in water. In this study, random methylated-ß-cyclodextrin (RAMEB) was used to improve the solubility of ABZ in aqueous media and its dissolution rate, and therefore, its bioavailability for oral administration.
Binary systems between ABZ and RAMEB were prepared in four molar ratios using the physical mixing and the kneading methods. The dissolution of ABZ from the binary systems was analysed by in vitro dissolution tests in simulated gastric/intestinal medium. The interaction in solid state between ABZ and RAMEB was studied with the differential scanning calorimetry.
The dissolution properties of ABZ from the binary systems with RAMEB, is improved in both dissolution mediums.
